Shannon Tweed to headline Silver Spoon dinner
February 14, 2012
Actress, reality TV star, animal advocate and Saskatoon sweetheart Shannon Tweed is the celebrity speaker at this year’s Silver Spoon Dinner.
The dinner’s co-chairs, Linda Shaw and Heather Fenyes, made the announcement Friday morning at TCU Place, where the glitzy annual fundraiser will be held May 7.
The ladies’ night of wining, dining, entertainment and prizes is now in its 22nd year.
Saskatoon-raised Tweed gained notoriety as the 1982 Playboy playmate of the year, and has appeared in more than 60 movie and television roles. Currently on the reality TV show Gene Simmons Family Jewels, she recently married KISS band member Simmons.
At the dinner, a selection committee also honours a Saskatoon-area woman with the Sterling Award, which recognizes a previously unsung lady for her voluntary contributions and service to the community.
Tickets to the Silver Spoon Dinner go on sale March 12, starting at 5:30 p.m. with a wine and cheese reception at the Sheraton Cavalier. Tickets cost $175 and will also be available after that date by calling 653-0528, emailing email@example.com, or by mail to 715 McKinnon Avenue, S7H 2G2.
